Different corporates prefer psychopaths to head their organizations than their counterparts, but they fail to impress when in that position. To prove this point, researchers conducted research that showed psychopaths have no empathy for their junior colleagues. They didn’t take time to think of the best investment decisions that will benefit the company.
Among the psychopathic managers in the research, those ranked amongst the top still had poor management skills. Even with their bad behavior, other workers and clients had to put up with their attitude. That’s because they don’t like to be corrected, and their bossy attitude makes them stick with ancient ideas even if they don’t work in present-day life. For a company to perform optimally, different firms should hire managers that are open to criticism and relate better with their colleagues.
Psychopaths and leadership
In a different research, another group of researchers researched senators. In their study, they studied the psychopathic senators to know how they perform while in leadership positions. The outcome showed that the psychopathic senators had fewer co-sponsors of their bills than their counterparts. That might have been due to their poor leadership skills that made it challenging to offer good leadership to their heading groups.
That is why you should be careful about the leader you elect. When selecting different leaders, ensure that they are always telling the truth, they know how to control their behavior. They are empathetic to different members of society regardless of their social status.
Psychopaths and decision making
There was a time when different cities had an opportunity of becoming the second headquarters of a particular company. And, each city had to submit proposals for consideration amongst the various entities in the contest.
Among the requirements, the firm had set for a city to qualify the availability of web developers and different professionals in the technology field. Besides, they wanted a town with a good transportation network, recreational opportunities, and the ability to move to phase one site by the stipulated time. The company’s management also needed a city with a significant population and different incentives that would make the company invest sufficiently.
Different cities had to come up with convincing statistics that showed they deserve the opportunity with the requirement. The cities’ leaders had to show their decision-making ability, making them get or miss the opportunity. The smart representatives worked as a block, choosing one city with all the requirements, and marketing it together.
At the end of it all, the city that won the contest put together a fantastic technology display package. The package showed different robots walking on city streets, with each one of them undertaking different tasks.
When talking about the technological package, one artist said that he was not afraid that technology would take over the future’s artistic industry. Even if he used brush, paint, and pepper to draw, the artist said he was not afraid of computers finishing off the cartooning process. According to the artist, the only concern was if robots would be advanced enough to take up his job.
