It is heavily recommended by those in the workplace that one should not lose sleep over their job. It is safe to assume that many may have the intention of going home with work on their brain. Rarely, no one will ever intend to go to sleep with their job on the brain. Nevertheless, it happens. We will explore this in greater depth in this piece.
According to a survey conducted by Accountemps, 40% of workplace professionals have said that they lose sleep due to the fact that they cannot get their minds off of their job. This problem is persistent across various age groups. However, the problem persists primarily among young people.
One of the most common issues that cause individuals to lose sleep over the fact that they are stressed out over the long amount of hours that they are working at the job. Individuals may be stressed over a particular issue at work. Additionally, many people are having restless nights due to a fear of losing their job.
Almost 60% of Workers between the ages of 18-34 said that they were losing sleep over their job. On the other hand, only 29% of workers that are 55 or over have this issue. Between genders, men are more likely to let the thoughts of work disturb their sleep. They are 10% more likely than women to let this happen.
In terms of locations where the sleeplessness over work tends to occur, one will be interested to know that workplace professionals tend to experience this phenomenon in big cities. Workers tend to experience sleeplessness over work more often in the Miami area. In addition, sleeplessness at work tends to occur a lot in the areas of Nashville, New York City, Chicago and San Francisco. Not all sizable cities has a population that experiences this. Washington D.C, Cleveland and Minneapolis are among the cities in which workers don’t tend to lose sleep over their employer.
There are some things that one can do to deal with this issue. In order for one to deal with the stress, one would be best served to deal with the issues in their workplace by writing them down on paper. By putting them down on paper, one may be better equipped to deal with them emotionally. One should look at their list and pinpoint the issues that he or she can control. It would be a good idea to prioritize those particular issues first.
